Mobile Broadband and Online Music: Making a Great Team

Music and mobile broadband – a perfect partnership

Music is more accessible more than ever through the power of the internet – and one good way to access the internet and all of its tune-filled websites is mobile broadband.

It’s essential for music fans to access sites like Facebook and MySpace to keep up-to-date with everything in the business, as well as access the rest of the internet.

It’s an age-old story that when you want to play at being a record company executive and find out more about that amazing new band you just saw perform, you’ll want to listen to their tracks on MySpace, talk to them on Facebook, watch their latest video on Youtube or download their single from iTunes.

Easy-to-use mobile broadband

And mobile broadband will easily let you do those things.  Taking a mobile broadband dongle, you can easily put the little device into your PC’s USB connection, and you’re away. No wires and no additional connections are used, so, you can investigate even if you’re on the way home from the sweaty venue where you just witnessed that inspiring show.

While it’s so easy for you to look at all the online information you want as soon as possible through mobile broadband, downloading a single through mobile broadband might sound harder, especially when dongles are notoriously known for what many people claim, their slow connection speeds.

Significant mobile broadband improvements to come

But now, mobile broadband is improving. Legally mobile broadband connection speeds are to speed up, so you can download LPs a lot easier – all above board, of course, after the latest plans by the government that are aiming to ensure everyone in the UK has access to broadband, whether it is a mobile or fixed broadband line.

Digital Britain, a set of media driven proposals by Communications Minister Lord Stephen Carter, says that all broadband must have a download connection speed of at least 2.6Mbps by 2012.

And while that might not sound very quick, 2.6Mbps equals to comfortably watching BBC iPlayer with no interruptions, so imagine what that means in regards to the amount of tracks you can download in comparison to past snail speed moments, even on a budget.

An exciting and massive world of music is waiting online, and once you purchase mobile broadband, it’s obvious that you’ll be immersed in the best of what the online music world and mobile broadband can offer you.

Why Combine Social Networking and Making Money

Have you heard of social networking? You are probably familiar with MySpace. MySpace is a social networking website offering an interactive, user-submitted network of friends, personal profiles, blogs, groups, photos, music, and so on.

Netscape is another example of a social network site. Social networking works because it allows you to meet other people who have similar interests as yourself. It also offers tremendous opportunities for people to make money.

1. First of all you want to join a social network site that relates to the theme of the product you want to market. Although you may not be marketing your product directly at first beginning to make acquaintances and hang out with people who have the same interests as you will make it easier to sell your product later.

2. When you join a social network site pick a username that ties back to the theme of the product that you represent. Instead of using your username as Joe Smith you could say, Online Gaming Joe, for example.

3. If you have a website or blog, be sure an add that to your social networking site. You can also link back to your website by hyperlinking a keyword that promotes the product you are selling.

Internet marketing and social networking are the same when you try to create backlinks to your site. The amount of traffic you can get is related to the amount of backlinks.

4. When you look at social networking sites such as Diig, Stumbleupon, and others, you see a tremendous opportunity to promote your business by adding content in the form of articles. If you write an article that relates to the topic that people find interesting you can get traffic from that.

PROBLOGGING: MAKING MONEY FROM BLOGS

A weblog (or simply blog) is a website that ‘publishes’ or features articles (which are called ‘blog posts’, ‘posts’, or ‘entries’), written by an individual or a group that make use of any or a combination of the following:

· Straight texts

· Photographs or images (photoblog)

· Video (videoblog)

· Audio files (audioblog)

· Hyperlinks

Usually presented and arranged in reverse chronological order, blogs are essentially used for the following purposes:

· Online journal or a web diary

· Content managament system

· Online publishing platform

A typical blog has the following components:

· Post date -the date and time of the blog entry

· Category – the category that the blog belongs to

· Title – the title of the blog

· Main body – the main content of the blog

· RSS and trackback – links the blog back from other sites

· Comments – commentaries that are added by readers

· Permalinks – the URL of the full article

· Other optional items – calendar, archives, blogrolls, and add-ons or plug-ins

A blog can also have a footer, usually found at the bottom of the blog, that shows the post date, the author, the category, and the ’stats’ (the nubmer of comments or trackbacks).

There are numerous types of blogs. Some of them are the following:

1. Political blog – on news, politics, activism, and other issue based blogs (such as campaigning).

2. Personal blog – also known as online diary that may include an individual’s day-to-day experience, complaints, poems, and illicit thoughts, and communications between friends.

3. Topical blog – with focus either on a particular niche (function or position) that is usually technical in nature or a local information.

4. Health blog – on specific health issues. Medical blog is a major category of health blog that features medical news from health care professionals and/or actual patient cases.

Blogging is typically done on a regular (almost daily) basis. The term “blogging” refers to the act of authoring, maintaining, or adding an article to an existing blog, while the term “blogger” refers to a person or a group who keeps a blog.

Today, more than 3 million blogs can be found in the Internet. This figure is continuously growing, as the availability of various blog software, tools, and other applications make it easier for just about anyone to update or maintain the blog (even those with little or no technical background). Because of this trend, bloggers can now be categorized into 4 main types:

· Personal bloggers – people who focus on a diary or on any topic that an individual feels strongly about.

· Business bloggers – people who focus on promoting products and services.

· Organizational bloggers – people who focus on internal or external communication in an organization or a community.

· Professional bloggers – people who are hired or paid to do blogging.

Problogging (professional blogging) refers to blogging for a profit. Probloggers (professional bloggers) are people who make money from blogging (as an individual blog publisher or a hired blogger).

Below are just some of the many money-making opportunities for probloggers:

· Advertising programs

· RSS advertising

· Sponsorship

· Affiliate Programs

· Digital assets

· Blog network writing gigs

· Business blog writing gigs

· Non blogging writing gigs

· Donations

· Flipping blogs

· Merchandising

· Consulting and speaking

The following are a few things that you need to consider if you want to be successful in problogging:

1. Be patient. Problogging requires a lot of time and effort, not to mention a long-term vision.

2. Know your audience. Targeting a specific audience or group is a key to building a readership.

3. Be an ‘expert’. Focus on a specific niche topic and strive to be the “go-to” blogger on that topic.

4. Diversify. Experiment with various add and affiliate programs that enable you to make money online (aside from blogging).

5. Do not bore your readers. Focus on the layout. White spaces, line spacings, and bigger fonts make a blog welcoming to read.

Certainly, it is possible to earn money from blogs. One just needs to take risks, the passion, and the right attitude in order to be a successful problogger.

Making Memories With Wimax Photo Sharing

There’s nothing better than going on vacation to get away from it all.  The only thing that may be better than enjoying a long, relaxing vacation may be sharing that long, relaxing vacation with family and friends.  With the invention of the digital camera, it is easier than ever to capture the very best moments of your very best vacations in detail.  The days of blurry snapshots are over, and high quality digital images are the norm.  With instant digital photo-critiquing ability, many family and friendly affairs can turn into a full-time photo shoot of victims powerless to stop the photographer in his shutter-happy state.  In order to avoid the over-taking of pictures, many promises are made to share favorite shots after the vacation is over.  What tends to foil this clever plan is the infrequency with which photos actually do make it from one party’s desktop to another’s.  As soon as we are back in the “real world” memories of a vacation well spent tend to drift into the background behind meeting notes and to-do lists of errands, far more important than photo sharing.  Let’s face it, the process of downloading digital photographs is far easier than the process of actually developing film.  However, the actual “work” time for the photographer is far greater than merely dropping off a roll of film at the store.  Add in the time required to then post, paste, or send the photos over the internet, and it truly is a chore to share entire albums of tens, or sometimes hundreds of photos.  The verdict?  The chances of getting last summer’s trip to the Cape from Uncle Jimmy are probably slim to none.  In order to save unsuspecting photo sharers from suffering this unfortunate fate, there is another way.  With the advent of 4G WiMax internet technology, users are enjoying the ease of sharing information on the go.  With WiMax ready technology available in devices like PDAs, cellular telephones, and laptops it is easier than ever to get mobile broadband access on the go.  For photo sharers, this equals the ability to send and share their experiences right from their favorite vacation spot.  Taking this file and photo sharing ability one step further, WiMax equipped cameras will allow the user to send their favorite shots to friends with all the quality of a digital photo, and the ease of a camera phone.  This ability to share and acquire information and visual images with ease will not only have great value for the average amateur photographer, but the world of media at large.Already available in many US cities, WiMax wireless internet provides a service that Wi-Fi hotspots cannot: mobility.  With coverage areas covering entire urban areas, it doesn’t matter where you snapped that perfect shot, 4G still lets you connect to the web.  Using mobile broadband technology it will be possible to get movies, music, documents and more on the go, with all the speed and convenience of a home office computer.  Making the internet truly wireless will be the technological revolution of the future, but for many internet users, the future is here today.

Making Money From Your Web Site With Google Adsense

Google AdSense is the Google program where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Web site. When someone clicks an ad, you earn money. Simple as that.

Is it really as easy to make money with Google AdSense as many would lead you to believe? Now that I’ve become heavily involved with managing Google AdSense programs for my clients, I can see it’s not all play and no work.

Unfortunately, a lot of people bought into the idea that there was a lot of easy money to be made and they are now finding out they aren’t making nearly as much as they thought they would. Additionally, Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to AdSense, and too many Webmasters are finding out they violated Google’s policies after the fact – often because they never bothered to read the AdSense policies in the first place.

Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their web sites must also comply with Google’s webmaster policies.

Prerequisites for Making Money with AdSense

To make money with Google AdSense you need plenty of traffic coming in to your site or there won’t be anyone to click the ads. Web site promotion techniques, especially search engine optimization and article marketing will bring more traffic to your site. You also need to have content that will attract the ads with the highest Pay Per Click (PPC) rate that are relevant to that content. Then, you need to lay out your web pages so the ads blend in with your Web site. Studies have revealed that people who visit sites that contain ads that use colors that are not in harmony with the actual Web site tend to develop “ad blindness”. Meaning no matter how much traffic comes into your site, chances are no one will click the ads because they’ll be ignoring them. If no one clicks, you make nothing.

Dealing with Competitors

If you offer products or services on you Web site, the first thing you’ll notice when you begin hosting PPC ads is that many of the ads are coming from your competitors. Therefore, you’ll want to put ads on pages that aren’t earning you any money, or do like I did and not put ads on your site until you’re so busy anyway you’d rather make a few dollars off of your competitors than to continue turning business away with nothing to show for it.

Google AdSense allows you to specify up to 200 URLs for sites you want to bar from placing ads on your pages. The problem is that most times you won’t know the competitors are out there until their ads appear.

Google Money Making Ad Options

Google offers three ways to make money from them:

Google AdSense Payments

Google will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings exceed $100. Unfortunately, there are loads of Google AdSense Forum entries about Web site operators who accumulated $90 or more in click through earnings only to get banned from Google and not get paid anything at all before they ever reached $100. This may be because Google doesn’t take a close look to see if you’re complying with their guidelines until it comes time to pay you. So yes, there’s a lot more to the story than meets the eye.

Making Older Desktop Pc Wireless

Okay so your looking for information on making a desktop PC wireless. You’ll be happy to know that just about any desktop PC can support a wireless internet connection. Even older desktops can connect to the internet via a wireless internet connection. First, make sure your desktop PC is in good working order. What I mean by good working order is just to make sure the desktop PC is free of unwanted spyware and other harmful files which could make a desktop computer’s wireless connection slow down to a crawl. If you plan on making an older desktop PC wireless then you should really scan your computer for spyware and infections because the last thing you want is something stealing all your system resources when you don’t have very much to begin with.WHATS NEEDED TO MAKE DESKTOP PC WIRELESS Let’s start by assuming you already have an internet service (not dial-up) and are cruising the web with ease. You should have a cable modem connected to your desktop PC. If this is the case, then you’re ready to begin your wireless setup. If you don’t have an existing internet service and a cable modem then you’d better stop reading this because a wireless internet connection on your desktop PC can’t be accomplished legally without them.MAKING PC WIRELESS – WIRELESS ROUTER First, before anything, you need to purchase a wireless router. If you’ve never owned a wireless router before then grabbing the most expensive model probably won’t benefit you all that much unless you plan on receiving a wireless internet connection from inside of a multiple story building. In this case a more expensive router will offer a few features that are worth the extra money. Remember when you go ahead and purchase a wireless router in hopes of making your desktop computer wireless you’ll be happy to know that you’ll be halfway done with your mission for wireless internet on your desktop. The only thing left is a wireless PC adapter.MAKING PC WIRELESS – WIRELESS DESKTOP ADAPTERS It’s actually very easy to add a wireless desktop adapter to your comupter’s arsenal of computing tools. There are two different types of wireless networking components that you can choose from. They are as follows. 1. Wireless USB adapter 2. Wireless PCI adapter *both wireless devices are packaged with a setup CD-ROM which quickly installs everything needed to configure and use your PC’s wireless internet connection. A wireless USB adapter is the easiest way to make a desktop PC wireless. The cons of using a wireless USB adapter are the signal strength which is considerably weaker than a wireless PCI card. Most people experience no problems with signal strength as long as they stay within range of the wireless router that’s sending out the wireless signal. Basically, installing a wireless USB adapter plugs into any available USB port. In reality, it only takes a matter of seconds to plug in a USB adapter and start using the internet without the wires. The second wireless device that can make desktop computers wireless is called a wireless PCI (PCI = white slots inside a computer) card adapter. This device enables high performance wireless connectivity for your desktop PC with extended range. Installation is not as hard as you might have thought. Simply remove the side panel from your desktop PC and insert the wireless PCI card into any one of the white slots inside. There is only one way the card can be installed. Reading the directions that are included when you purchase your wireless networking device is by far the best thing you can do to ensure a smooth installation and launch of your wireless connection.MAKING DESKTOP PC WIRELESSMORE WIRELESS HOW TO INFORMATION In the future I will most likely go into further detail about each networking component. Check out this page if you have any further questions about  making a desktop pc wireless.

These can be text or image ads or both – you specify what you’ll allow. Ad units are full ads. Link units are simply a strip of text links that your visitors might want to click. Google allows you to put up to 3 Ad Units and 1 Link unit on each page of your Web site, provided you follow its policies – both for AdSense and for Webmasters.Google AdSense for Search – This places a search box on your Web site. When a user enters a term and conducts a search, a search results page opens, that hosts more pay-per-click ads. You can customize the color scheme of the search results page to harmonize with your web site.Google Referrals – Here you make money by referring visitors to use a Google product, like AdSense, AdWords, the Google Toolbar and other Google software. Just like Google AdSense for Content and AdSense for Search, Google generates the code that you paste into the desired location on your web page. You can choose from a wide variety of buttons and text links of different colors. As an example of how Google Referrals works, if someone goes to your site and clicks the link and signs up for an AdSense account, when that person earns a $100 from Google AdSense and receives a payout from Google, you’ll also receive $100 for referring them. This is a great idea to me, because you can be the world’s worst Google AdSense advertiser, but if an ad dynamo happens to visit your site and uses your referral link, you can make money anyway!Google AdSense PaymentsGoogle will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings exceed $100. 2. Another great method that I have found that gets spiders quickly come to my new blog is to create 5 posts and pre-date them for the period of 1 month going back.

Let me show you how easy this is.

If you have a new blog you can predate your posts.

To predate your posts remove all pinging services located in the ‘options’ writing category in your WordPress admin area.

In each post use your blog’s main keyword in the title and the body of the post. Also add the main keyword separately on the line on the bottom of each post.

If your blog is new write first post and edit the timestamp back but not longer than one month. If your blog is on the domain that you have had for awhile you can predate posts for longer than a month.

The last post you make have it dated for today and before you make a post put all the pinging services to be contacted. Then publish your new post.

That’s all it is to it. This method allows you to notify pinging services that your blog has been updated and already has content created on it.

3. Submit your blog to blog directories

Blog directories are generally free to add your blog to. Some blog directories require you to insert a small banner on your blog.
