The Organization   

The general management and control of the Association is vested in the Executive Council.  The members of the Executive Council are elected from the Corporate members, each member representing a section of the IT Industry.  The Executive Council holds office for a period of two years with the President as its head.  The Vice President, in the absence of the President is vested with the authority to perform the duties of the President.

The Secretariat headed by the Executive Director is responsible for MAIT’s administrative business.  Headquartered in New Delhi with regional offices in Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai, the Secretariat works full time to support the Executive Council.

Various Committees – both at national and regional levels constitute an integral part of the Association.  The Committees, comprising Top and Middle Management of member companies, take up long and short-term issues of the Indian IT Industry.

Membership
MAIT represents 92% of the Hardware Sector (by turnover). MAIT membership comprising Indian and Multinational companies is categorised into Corporate and Affiliate. The Corporate Members are engaged in manufacture of IT products or provide services or in any other closely related IT business and the Affiliate Members support the cause of MAIT. Application of membership is subject to approval of the Executive Council.
