Do you remember the olden days of dialup internet connection? All those hours spent trying to connect to it and when you finally do you’re rewarded with slow web browsing, regular disconnections, and not being able to receive any calls on landline phone. Those were the good old days, weren’t they? Now we have the luxury of high speed Internet and forget about how difficult life used to be. We are free to enjoy constant Internet connection, web pages load much faster and we never need to worry about missing a call.

You’ll find that most web pages load faster broadband than they do over dial-up. It works better for downloading files, streaming video, or sending big e-mail attachments. Broadband generally makes your life much easier. If you spend more that an hour a day online, then the time and aggravation you’ll save is definitely worth the $ 40 to $ 50 per month for its service.

There are basically three different types of broadband internet connections, DSL, cable, and satellite with cable and DSL being the most popular. It may be time for you to explore the high speed internet connections available in your area. Here are a few ways to help you choose between cable and broadband.

You’ll want to go over the availability of each and compare them with each other. Cable internet connection is much more common due to the existing cable TV subscriptions most people already have. DSL, on the other hand uses existing telephone wires, so it isn’t available in many areas, notably rural ones. You’ll want to know about what kind of connection speed you’ll get with either. Cable is thought to be faster than DSL, but one thing to remember is that the actual connection speed you experience depends on the number of subscribers using the connection at that time. Numerous people all connected to the internet in a set area simultaneously can considerably slow down the data-transfer speed of a cable connection. Available bandwidth depends on how many people share the line, and they are often shared among several users. The plus side of a DSL hookup is that each user gets an individual dedicated line. The quality of service for each should also be taken into consideration. Broadband connection quality through DSL is dependent on the distance between you and the remote terminal. If there a remote terminal near you, you will see better service than if a terminal was located far away from your home. All of the laid-out cables in use from the cable TV companies all but guarantee that their customers get consistent service but they need to know the number of local users actively using the service before making a decision. The prices for each service need to be looked over. Most internet service providers offer competitive rates, but you’ll find that DSL is sometimes a little more expensive. Many companies will also sell you package deals, which encourage users to purchase a package of services instead of only one. Each company’s customer service department and quality should play an important factor in your decision. Before making a decision on either, be sure that it has a good customer care department. Does either suffer from downtime in their connections? The best way answer this is by going online and reading customer feedback. Finally, a company’s data-security features should be reviewed. Both cable and DSL connections are secure, especially for home use.

There is one question that most people are asking about cable TV. But what is that question all about? They have asked questions like “What is the future of cable TV?”, and we really can’t predict that. You know why? It is because only those people or companies who have invented cable and other TV sets may know about the future of it. Probably, we might not know it for sure, but we only know that it’s going to improve and even getting better and better once and for all. Let’s talk about on how the real future of cable TV lives on.

Cable TV, though has come up a long way, its future is in Cable Card. With the development of technology, Cable TV operators introduced set top boxes and cable internet. With the Cable Card, one would be able to pull pictures from websites like Flickr to the television. Cable cards will be fitted behind set top boxes. This facility will work with the multi- room DVR capability.

Now, one will be able to record a show with a hard drive on a box in living room and then can view on up to three other boxes elsewhere in the same house. This new system is worked by Time Warner and Cox Cable Networks and soon will be introduced in USA.

The future of Cable TV is moving towards High Definition Television, Interaction Television and Time Shift Television. DTH service is gradually gaining a stronghold of consumers into the market. Indian Television Industry is expected to grow by 11.4 percent over the period of next four to five years in the future. Relatively, Cable TV distribution is expected to grow higher than the television advertising industry. The contribution will grow in television distribution industry from Pay TV subscribers and Pay TV homes.

Television Advertising Industry on the other hand, might see a fall down due to economic crisis in the world. However, India is still expected to grow due to the domestic demand and advertising on television in collaboration with China. Cable homes are expected to grow to 80 million homes from 71 million through semi – urban and rural areas. DTH service will also add to increase in the growth of the Cable TV in the near future. The day is not far when HDTV Future Technology is going to grow Cable TV as a source of promising industry in the future.

Generally, the term Broadband refers to the simultaneous transmission of multiple pieces of data that increases the effective rate of transmission.

Broadband technology supports a wide range of frequencies. It is available for both home and at business purposes since it facilitates high speed, high quality, low cost and is easiest to use Internet connection at home and at the office. Basically, broadband services come in three different types namely, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Cable Broadband Service, Satellite Broadband Service and Wireless Broadband Service.

Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL): ADSL is unique among other types of DSLs with its typical characteristic to transmit data in one direction than the other. It uses the primarily analogue modulation schemes where as other standards use band technology based modulation schemes like Gigabit Ethernet and others. Its instant access to any information or service modes helps you to stay always online as soon as you switch on.

Cable Broadband Service: In Cable Broadband Service the transmission is basically carried with the help of an Ethernet modem for accessing internet services through the cable. It provides a lot of broadband solutions to everyone. They allow you to have access over your phone line simultaneously, while you’re on the net, helps in saving a great deal of call costs and extra line rental and also are fast in downloading of large files.

Satellite Broadband Service: Satellite broadband service in fact, is the most reliable since it can be used almost from anywhere. Satellite connections come up in two different types i.e. in “one-way” and “two-way” connections. They help in having connection at a lower cost, higher speed, and reliable links to the Internet directly on to your PC. It enables the installations of broadband service in most remote areas, keeps its customers always smiling.

Wireless Broadband Service: A wireless broadband service uses an arrangement of fixed antennas that allows the users to have access with high speed Internet wirelessly over the air. It delivers fast Internet access by means of radio waves as a replacement for of cables or wires.

For more details about the types of broadband services go through our product pages and learn more about them!

Some areas in the United States fall outside of the service range of Cable and DSL internet services. Since the internet is important no matter where you live in the United States, people in rural areas are put at a huge disadvantage. Being forced to use a dial-up internet connection if you’re heavily dependent on the internet may negatively affect how efficiently you can get your daily work completed. If you live in a remote location in the United States, it’s time to look into getting a Satellite Internet connection set up for your home computer. Having high speed internet in the rural parts of the country is now possible. If you need to stay connected at all times but have been limited in your options, you now have the ability to get more. With Satellite Internet, you can get a similar connection speed at a comparable price no matter where you call home in the U.S. From any rural city in the continental USA, you can now stay connected just like those who live in the big cities of America. With the slow connections of dial-up internet, the rural areas didn’t use to have the same opportunities to get a good internet connection as the more developed cities. Because dial-up internet was not designed to transfer the complex data that the people all over the world use today, smaller cities were put at a disadvantage. It was nearly impossible to stay up to date in the fast paced world that we live in. But now that there is Satellite Internet to provide the entire country with the same high speed internet, the rural areas of the country can now develop at the same speed as the other cities. Instead of the smaller cities getting further and further behind as the bigger cities continue to become more technologically developed, all cities in the U.S. can now develop at the same rate. Beyond just using the internet as a means of business and development, the majority of people in America use the internet for personal use as well. Keeping in contact with people who live outside your city via email and chat programs, such as Facebook or Skype, is now available to everyone. Downloading pictures or music files would take hours with a dial-up connection, leaving people more frustrated than it is worth. With Satellite Internet, you’ll get a similar connection speed as DSL and Cable Internet at a comparable price. Everyone in the country now has the same ability to enjoy the internet for all the personal reasons as well as for business. No matter what you want to use the internet for, having a high speed connection is a requirement to transmit today’s type of data. Many businesses today use the internet not only as a means of communication, but many business programs are also internet based. Furthermore, personal use of the internet is almost just as important. Whether you use it for personal email, downloading music or researching information, the internet has become essential to daily life in America.
