The Evolution Of Rich Internet Applications

The Rich Internet Application reflects the gradual but inevitable transition of Web applications from the simple thin-client model of a traditional Web browser to a richer distributed-function model that behaves more like the desktop in a client/server model. Today these richer user experiences are being implemented with technologies such as Flash, Ajax, and Java, using standard Internet and Web protocols to take web performance to the next level.

Because RIAs are significantly more complex than traditional browserbased Web applications, they pose new design, measurement, and management challenges. To implement RIAs successfully, enterprises must re-evaluate their approaches to service level management (SLM) and consider several new challenges including:

• how to measure an RIA user’s experience of response time;

• how to break apart into meaningful components the time it takes to complete a business transaction;

• how to monitor the performance of a production application, and alert when its behavior is abnormal;

• how to change development and systems management processes to ensure successful implementations.

The Evolution of the Web Page

The Web was originally intended to help researchers share documents as static pages of linked text formatted in HTML. From there, Web pages quickly evolved to include complex structures of text and graphics, with plug-in programs to play audio and video files or to stream multimedia content. Web developers supplement the basic browser function of rendering HTML by invoking code (scripts) on the user’s computer (the client). These scripts can create interface elements such as rollover effects, custom pull-down menus, and other navigation aids. These script capabilities, while they enhance a user’s interaction with individual Web pages, do not change the fundamental model in which application logic runs on the server and executes between Web pages after the user clicks. This behavior is said to be synchronous, that is, after each click the user waits while the server handles the input and the browser downloads a response page.

From Web Pages to Rich Internet Applications

In a traditional Web application, all processing is done on the server, and a new Web page is downloaded each time the user clicks. Recently, Web developers have been evolving a new model—the Rich Internet Application (RIA), which is “a cross between Web applications and traditional desktop applications, transferring some of the processing to a Web client and keeping (some of) the processing on the application server”.

As with most computing advances, several technologies are vying for acceptance as the de facto standard way to build RIAs. The main contenders are Adobe’s Flash suite, Java applets, and the collection of Web technologies known as Ajax, a term coined in 2005 by Adaptive Path’s Jesse James Garrett. Garrett explained that Ajax is “really several technologies, each flourishing in its own right, coming together in powerful new ways.

Ajax incorporates:

• standards-based presentation using XHTML and CSS;

• dynamic display and interaction using the Document Object Model;

• data interchange and manipulation using XML and XSLT;

• asynchronous data retrieval using XMLHttpRequest;

• JavaScript binding everything together.”

In practice, we can think of Ajax as a development concept or approach, as various technologies can substitute for those specified by Garrett. Some developers even claim that “Flash is Ajax”, and others advocate using them together. viz., AFLAX. All having their hand in website performance complicating any analysis of RIA technology is the massive amount of hype surrounding both “Web 2.0” (a superset of RIA) and Ajax (a subset of RIA).

How to Fix Computer Errors – Three Ways to Fix Computer Errors Now

Computers are hardly perfect. You will notice they crash, overheat, slow down, and fail on you. You cannot avoid this. But then things go wrong you CAN fix it. And this does not mean sending your computer off to get repaired for hundreds of dollars or buying a new one. Try utilizing these steps to fix computer errors and fix a slow computer. Give them a try:

1. Run a desk defragmenter. As files are installed, updated, and removed there are fragments of these all over your hard drive. This can cause Windows error messages and make you wonder “why is my computer slow”. A disk defragmenter will tie up loose ends and condense the files together in one stream. Errors will be reduced and your computer will be faster.

2. Use disk cleanup to remove undesirable files. Our computers are chock full of useless information that takes up hard drive space and causes Microsoft error messages. Conducting a disk cleanup will eliminate files you don’t need, which in turn removes corrupted files and speeds up your CPU

3. Fix corrupt registry. This can be the most critical step you can enact to fix computer errors. The registry is the place where most windows errors come from. There are broken links, corrupt applications, and miss file paths that need to be repaired. Cleaning up your registry is a step anyone should take to fix most Microsoft error messages. A word of caution, however, do not try this manually. The registry is a very sensitive area and unless you really know what you are doing I recommend using a program to clean up registry issues.

Executing these 3 steps will do wonders to reduce computer errors while speeding up computer speed leaps and bounds. I have discovered a program that can do all three of these with a few clicks of the mouse. This will automate the process and get you well on your way to a fast and error free computer!

Want to turbocharge your computer speed? Looking to fix those pesky windows error messages? Get an easy fix and scan your computer for free with the best registry clean up software on the internet today.

Binge Eating – Information on Binge Eating

Almost everyone overeats on occasion, having seconds or thirds of a holiday meal or devouring an entire bag of chips while watching a scary movie. Sometimes, though, overeating becomes a regular occurrence, shrouded in shame and secrecy. It’s called binge-eating disorder, a serious eating disorder in which you frequently consume unusually large amounts of food.

Men and Women living with Binge Eating Disorder suffer a combination of symptoms similar to those of Compulsive Overeaters and Bulimia. The sufferer periodically goes on large binges, consuming an unusually large quantity of food in a short period of time (less than 2 hours) uncontrollably, eating until they are uncomfortably full. The weight of each individual is usually characterized as above average or overweight, and sufferers tend to have a more difficult time losing weight and maintaining average healthy weights. Unlike with Bulimia, they do not purge following a Binge episode.

A binge eating episode typically lasts around two hours, but some people binge on and off all day long. Binge eaters often eat even when they’re not hungry and continue eating long after they’re full. They may also gorge themselves as fast as they can while barely registering what they’re eating or tasting.

Binge eating is a pattern of disordered eating which consists of episodes of uncontrollable overeating. It is sometimes as a symptom of binge eating disorder. During such binges, a person rapidly consumes an excessive amount of food. Most people who have eating binges try to hide this behaviour from others, and often feel ashamed or depressed about their overeating. Eating binges can be followed by so-called compensatory behaviour, acts by which the person tries to compensate for the effects of overeating. Examples of such acts are purging (induced vomiting or laxative abuse), fasting, and heavy exercising.

The causes of binge eating disorder are still unknown. Up to half of all people with binge eating disorder have a history of depression. Whether depression is a cause or effect of binge eating disorder is unclear. It may be unrelated. Many people report that anger, sadness, boredom, anxiety or other negative emotions can trigger a binge episode. Impulsive behavior and certain other psychological problems may be more common in people with binge eating disorder.

We cannot diagnose or treat eating disorders by e-mail, but we can send you information and assist you in finding resources. Information provided by the Eating Disorder Referral and Information Center is not a substitute for medical treatment or psychological care. It is vital that you talk with your physician and a qualified mental health professional regarding eating disorder symptoms and treatment.

Binge eating also occurs in another eating disorder called bulimia nervosa. Persons with bulimia nervosa, however, usually purge, fast, or do strenuous exercise after they binge eat. Purging means vomiting or using a lot of diuretics (water pills) or laxatives to keep from gaining weight. Fasting is not eating for at least 24 hours. Strenuous exercise, in this case, means exercising for more than an hour just to keep from gaining weight after binge eating. Purging, fasting, and overexercising are dangerous ways to try to control your weight.

Both binge eating and bulimia involve eating excessive amounts of food, feeling out of control while eating, and feeling guilty or ashamed afterward. But bulimia nervosa (sometimes called binge-purge syndrome) is different from binge eating disorder because people with bulimia vomit or use laxatives to try to keep themselves from gaining weight after eating. They may also try to burn off the extra calories by exercising compulsively as a way of making up for overeating. People with binge eating disorder do not have these “purge” characteristics.

Troubleshoot Your Computer Errors

If your computer is running at a snail’s pace or not showing errors, the time has come to do some troubleshooting for computer errors. There are different reasons why your PC is acting like this. In order to help find out the cause of these nasty computer problems and get to solutions, you can consider taking help from online computer support resources.

As in case of problems created by computer virus, your computer help desk technician will find out if your virus software is up to date and if not, s/he ensures to update it and run a scan. You can download and install virus protection software and use that to determine if a virus is causing net/microsoft-support.htmlyou problems.

As such, computer viruses can infect your PC from a website, email attachment or even piggyback on another file you may have downloaded.

Technicians working with computer support centers follow a rigorous windows troubleshooting process as required according to the particular computer problem.

For example: you may be experiencing problems after installing a new piece of software. To get a solution for it, the technician can uninstall the software and see if that resolves the problem. Similarly, new hardware can also cause conflicts especially as a result of incorrect or faulty device drivers. Your online technician will give you a descriptive answer for your problem. Although s/he could not change the piece of hardware but help you with steps to remove it from your system or attempt to update your drivers from the vendor’s site.

Another very common cause of computer instability is Windows registry errors and conflicts. Every single Windows based computer has a registry which is responsible for storing data on your software and settings. The registry serves a critical element of your operating system. A faulty registry can give out different symptoms or strange error messages leading to even a system crash. If your registry is to blame, your computer support worker will offer you an easy fix to let the software automatically correct the problems that it encounters.

By looking into the potential issues faced by your PC, the computer support technician will solve errors quickly.

6 Ways to Gain Control and Stop Binge Eating

After you realize that you have binge eating disorder, it’s important to figure out the root of why you binge.  The root is the reason you turn to bingeing; it’s why you do what you do.  This is one of the first steps you need to figure out as you try to move into binge eating disorder recovery.

When you know why you binge, you will be more in tune to staying away from certain circumstances or emotions that could led to a binge.  Many times the hard part is not figuring out why you binge because it seems so obvious.  We are creatures of habit, and will continue to build on previous habits.  Often times binge eating appeals to us when we have too much going on and feel overwhelmed.  When something sad happens in our life, we binge.  Even if we are alone and bored, binge eating sounds desirable.

The problem that many people have is knowing what the next step is after discovering why they binge.  It’s great to know that stressful situations lead you to eating massive amounts of food, but sometimes those situations just aren’t avoidable.  Sadly, stress is just part of our lives.  So what do you do then?

Instead of giving up on beating binge eating disorder, try these 6 ideas to gain control:

1.  Affirmations

Affirmations are positive statements you say about yourself and your future.  Without realizing it, people use affirmations daily, but they are not always positive.  Many times people say negative things about themselves and that gets registered in his/her mind.  Saying affirmations is such a great tool because it actually bridges the gap between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind, thus creating new proposed realities.  The most important thing to remember with affirmations is that you need to state it as if it already your reality.  For example, “I have a healthy relationship with food.”  “I am strong and in control of food.”

2.  Journal

In the times that you most want to binge, pull out your journal and pen and start writing away!  Be sure that every feeling you are experiencing gets written down on the paper.  Don’t hold anything back.  Journaling is such a good way to pull yourself out of a potential binge.  It allows for you to get out your positive and negative feelings, without keeping them bottled up inside.  It allows you to get things off of your chest.  You can be as mad as you want on paper without it turning into something destructive like bingeing.  Most importantly, it frees you from any stress or tension you have, which is great because you won’t be as likely to binge eat.

3.  Blog

Why not start a blog?  It will act the same way a journal does, but you might get comments back from others who know what you are going through.  Get your feelings and thoughts out on the web and see how it makes you feel.

4.  Laugh

Go into your bathroom, shut the door, and start making faces at yourself in the mirror.  This will immediately make you laugh, either because you are truly funny or because you just feel silly.  Either way, it’s good for the soul!

5.  Be accountable

This may be tricky if no one knows that you have binge eating disorder.  If there is a trusted friend, family member, or counselor that you have told, why not hold yourself accountable to them?  You will do anything you can think of to avoid a binge so that you do not have to go back and let that person know that you gave in.  You’ll even come up with some great distractions for binge eating!

6.  Cherish yourself

Binge eaters like to reward themselves with food.  You do it a few times, it feels good, and pretty soon it’s a habit for you.  You don’t even think about planning a binge as a celebration; you just do it.  Even though habits are difficult to change, it’s important that you find other things than food to reward yourself with.  Get together with friends, have a massage or pedicure, buy new makeup or clothing, or discover a new hobby.  When you cherish yourself and find a new reward, you will get an instant boost on the inside!  In addition to feeling good about yourself, you will think twice about bingeing and disrespecting yourself like that.

Outsource (RIA) Rich Internet Application development

Looking to create very rich and interactive applications? It is not so easy for developing high-performing applications as it is really need some heads up. You will need some expert and professional developer to develop application without fault. There is lots of IT outsourcing company but for developing high-end application you will need creative and skilled developer.

Desktop based Rich Internet Application running on multiple operating systems need runtime Adobe AIR. By having feature of additional API adobe AIR makes Rich Internet application development faster and smoother compared to other web application development platforms. Creating a high-performance application is not an easy task. It will need some extra care and professional programming skills. For developing very rich and interactive application it’s effective to outsource from some sound skilled IT outsourcing companies such as Rightway Solution. One of the best professional and outstanding growth achiever in Flex application development and Adobe AIR web development Rightway can be the best solution.

Adobe AIR is easy and cost effective technology which can control some existing technologies like HTML, Java scripts, CSS, Flex, and Flash for creating desktop applications. The strong point of AIR is that can work existing web application to deliver excellent Rich Internet Applications (RIA) to remote browser.

Adobe provides developers three ways for Adobe AIR development:

As the traditional desktop applications Adobe AIR is having Cross Platform Application runtime, run application while Internet disconnected, low risk and Cost effective development, easy to integrate with existing technologies, supports to native desktop integration and having ability to access local data with embedded databases.

Another benefit is AIR offers integrated support for the SQLite database and helps in web application development and desktop application development.

Rich Internet Applications – The Next Generation Of Web Application

Rich Internet Applications are the next generation of Web applications. Rich Internet Application provides the usability, receptiveness, and reuse of client/server applications with the operation, manageability, and accessibility of traditional Web applications. Examples of RIA frameworks comprise of Ajax, Curl, GWT, Adobe Flash/Adobe Flex/AIR, Java/JavaFX, Mozilla’s XUL, OpenLaszlo and Microsoft Silverlight.

Rich Internet applications offer a rich, appealing experience that develops user satisfaction and boost productivity. Using the Internet, the developers can organize RIAs across browsers and desktops. Rich Internet Applications differ from other Internet applications in the amount of communication interface. A customary page based on Internet application limits interaction to a small set of usual controls such as checkboxes, form fields, radio buttons and buttons. This strictly limits the skill to build usable applications and most Internet applications have proven awkward and more difficult to use than their desktop counterparts.

RIAs can change the way businesses operate so far. The technology behind creating such applications is not complex and can be straightforwardly understood and executed in order to create useful program. It will definitely improve the presence of a website over the internet. Many companies have doubled their output by adding rich internet applications into their internet operations.

RIAs have developed all kind of applications such as word processors, spreadsheets, online games. The benefit of technology is that surfer can connect to a website, use the software they need, and no need to install anything on their own computer. This technology provides a reliable experience for surfers who use Macs, PCs and other systems.

In today’s scenario most of the companies are depending and taking advantage from RIA technology. YouTube is one such example of a website that is offering this service and which is built with RIA technology (Adobe Flash and AJAX). RIA community consists of software developers and business people who need to develop the technology and use for better future of websites.

A number of websites with RIA style interfaces include:

Many are constructed with Flash or AJAX techniques. The key features of these applications include:

These rich features are those that provide test to designers who wish to make sure applications are highly functional.

Repair Computer Errors – Why to User Registry Cleaner?

A registry cleaner as the name suggests is used to remove all invalid entries in the registry and also make the registry faster by optimizing it. The cleaner works by removing the junk and clutter data that has built up in your registry that has happened due to installation and deletion of programs as well as deleting and creating files and even surfing online. In simple way it is used to repair the computer errors.It is necessary to run a full scan of your registry with the registry cleaner regularly like once in a week, etc.

Your operating system as well as all the applications on your computer depends totally on the registry as configuration of all software and hardware resides in it. There is not a single task that your computer cannot perform without the help of your registry. The registry instructs the operating system, the hardware and all the software applications what functions they have to perform. Every process in the registry takes place in the background as a result of which you don’t know what is actually happening.

Many times you may observe that your computer crashes or a software application hangs up with an error message. Hence before your computer system gets worse, you will need a registry cleaner to repair computer errors and wipe out all these consistencies as well as make your computer run smoothly again.

So how can the registry get damaged? As mentioned before, installing and removing programs the entries in the registry are removed or changed. However some of the entries in the registry are not removed properly as a result of which there are failures and system errors. With the help of the registry cleaner you can purge these invalid entries thereby making your computer’s performance better than before.

A registry cleaner also solves the problem of missing and corrupt files in the registry. There maybe some registry entries that get overwritten when you are trying to install a new program and a registry cleaner comes in handy as it may simply reverse the effect.

Repair computer errors should not be done manually if the errors occur in the registry because registry is very sensitive, one wrong deletion might lead to a complete system error.

Download the software and scan your computer for free at Repair Computer Errors – Why to use registry cleaners?

One of the Leading Causes for Being Over Weight or Obese is Binge Eating

Binge eating is when you consume unusual large amounts of food. You also may want to stop eating but can not resist the urge and continue to keep eating. Normally a person will eat 1500 calories to 3000 calories a day. When a binge eater eats there are times when they can consume as many as 10,000 to 20,000 calories at one time. Binge eating is a disorder that has only recently been getting diagnosed as an illness in fact many experts are still trying to disclaim binge eating. However, new estimates say now that 4% of the US population has a binge eating disorder. They also say that girls and women are slightly more likely to develop the disorder than boys and men. Both children and adults can develop this disorder but it is found most commonly in people in their 40’s and 50’s.

What Causes Binge Eating Disorder? The causes of binge eating disorder are still unknown. Up to half of all people with binge eating disorder have a history of depression. Whether depression is a cause or effect of binge eating disorder is unclear. It may be unrelated. Many people report that anger, sadness, boredom, anxiety or other negative emotions can trigger a binge episode. Impulsive behavior and certain other psychological problems may be more common in people with binge eating disorder. There are major complications of a binge eating disorder. These include diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, gallbladder disease, heart disease, and certain types of cancer.

How do I know if I have binge eating disorder? Most of us overeat from time to time, and some of us often feel we have eaten more than we should have. Eating a lot of food does not necessarily mean that you have binge eating disorder. Experts generally agree that most people with serious binge eating problems often eat an unusually large amount of food and feel their eating is out of control. People with binge eating disorder also may:

1. eat much more quickly than usual during binge episodes

2. eat until they are uncomfortably full

3. eat large amounts of food even when they are not really hungry

4. eat alone because they are embarrassed about the amount of food they eat

5. feel disgusted, depressed, or guilty after overeating.

Purging, fasting, and over exercising are dangerous ways to try to control your weight.

Binge eating generally isn’t an illness you can treat on your own but you can do things at your home to try and control the disorder. Here are some examples. Stick to your treatment. Don’t skip therapy sessions. If you have meal plans, do your best to stick to them and don’t let setbacks derail your overall efforts. Avoid dieting. Trying to diet can trigger more binge episodes, leading to a vicious cycle that’s hard to break. Eat breakfast. Many people with binge-eating disorder skip breakfast. But studies show that if you eat breakfast, you’re less prone to eating higher calorie meals later in the day. Don’t stock up. Keep less food in your home than you normally do. That may mean more-frequent trips to the grocery store, but it may also take away the temptation and ability to binge eat. Get the right nutrients. Just because you may be eating a lot during binges doesn’t mean you’re eating the kinds of food that supply all of your essential nutrients. Talk to your doctor about vitamin and mineral supplements. Stay connected. Don’t isolate yourself from caring family members and friends who want to see you get healthy. Understand that they have your best interests at heart. Get active. Talk to your health care providers about what kind of exercise is appropriate for you, especially if you have health problems related to being overweight.

What if I think I have binge eating disorder? If you think you might have binge eating disorder, it is important to know that you are not alone. Most people who have the disorder have tried but failed to control it on their own. You may want to get professional help. Talk to your health care provider about the type of help that may be best for you. The good news is that most people do well in treatment and can overcome binge eating.
