Microsoft Project Training – where do I start?

Non users know it might be handy for drawing project schedules – but make do with an Excel imitation and fail to appreciate the powerful planning and tracking functionality.

As project management becomes a core methodology underpinning most modern organisations it is time for companies and individuals to learn just how much more effective they could be by using Microsoft Project, alongside other everyday tools such as Word and PowerPoint.

This Guide explains the range of training options that are available.

1. Microsoft Project Training – Where do I Start?

There is no simple answer! It depends very much on your current familiarity with projects and project management software tools. You also need to take into account the skill sets that you are looking to achieve. Visit the MS Project Training Page on the Focus website for more information.

Basic Awareness – You want to be able to set up project timelines using Microsoft Project and understand the basic tracking and reporting functionality – If you are starting from scratch we would recommend a 2 day Introductory (Level 1) course. – If you already have some familiarity with the software (perhaps from an earlier release) then a 1 day course would be appropriate – If you are totally new to a project environment then introductory project management training may be a useful start point. This will help you to understand project organisation and timelines

The content of these courses is explained in the following sections.

 2. Introductory Courses – Level 1

If you need to understand how to build and manage project plans, an Introduction, or “Level 1″, course in Microsoft Project will get you started. Courses cover the essential skills necessary to create and modify a project plan including tasks and resources. The emphasis will be on creating the initial plan. There are versions of these training courses tailored to align with both 2003 and 2007 releases of Microsoft Project. • Build and edit a project plan • Create and assign resources • Manage project costs • Track progress • Filter and print project plans • Communicate your plans • Produce reports

There are options of one or two day courses depending upon your previous knowledge and experience. The one day course assumes basic awareness of projects and project planning – perhaps from an earlier version of Microsoft Project.

If you are completely new to project management you will find it beneficial to attend a general project management introduction course first.

Please check the different training course outlines which may have a slightly different content. The Level 1 training is not accredited by Microsoft or associated with an exam. However, all Focus courses are developed and delivered by Microsoft partner companies with a deep knowledge of the subject.

 3. Advanced Courses – Level 2

Advanced or “Level 2″ Microsoft Project training courses are designed for existing MS Project users who want to add to their basic skills. They will also benefit Project Managers wishing to learn how to customise Microsoft Project to their own specific requirements. You will learn to use advanced features to plan, track and analyse variances from plan. The emphasis is on how you work with a plan in the implementation phase.

• Resolve resource over-allocations • Manage multiple projects • Integrate MS Project with other Office applications • Customise the MS Project interface (fields, tables, views, filters and reports) • Record and run simple macros • Exchange project plan data with other applications including Excel & Word • Create and print custom reports • Import data • Track project progress

There are versions of these training courses tailored to align with both 2003 and 2007 releases of Microsoft Project. There are also options of one or two day courses depending upon your previous knowledge and experience.

Please check the different training course outlines which may have slightly different course content.

The Level 2 training is not accredited by Microsoft or associated with an exam. However, all Focus courses are developed and delivered by Microsoft partner companies with a deep knowledge of the subject.

 4. Microsoft Certified Training & Qualifications

Microsoft operates a comprehensive structure of internationally recognised certifications. Project 2007 skills have recently been incorporated into the MCTS (Certified Technology Specialist) and MCITP (Certified IT Professional) framework.

The MS5927 “Managing Projects” course is a 3 day course which provides the entry point for the other Project 2007 training. A basic knowledge of project management and experience of using MS Project to create project schedules are pre-requisites.

5. Specialist Courses

For those looking to apply Microsoft Project to specific environments there are other specialist courses available. Amongst them is one which relates specially to use of Microsoft Project to manage PRINCE2TM projects. This covers similar topics to the Level 1 course but includes guidance on how to model PRINCE2 TM processes within MS Project.

How Do I Set Up My Wireless Network at Home?

Wireless home networks are becoming more and more popular these day. The ease of installation and the practicality of being able to surf the net anywhere in the house makes wireless home networks very attractive to internet users. Setting up a wireless home network is quite easy but you need to know some basic things about wireless networks before attempting to start the set up. You can read up more about the  wireless networking protocols to help you get a better understanding of wireless networking. To set up a wireless home network you need to have broadband internet connection with a cable or DSL modem. The common set up at home is usually that of the desk top computer being plugged directly into the modem. In this tutorial we will assume that you have a laptop that you want to connect wirelessly to the PC that is connected to the internet. You need some hardware to make this possible. First you need to have a wireless router. You also need to add a USB wireless network adapter to your desk top PC and a PC card-based network adapter for your laptop computer. For obvious reasons, it is advisable to choose the same vendor for all the additional hardware you buy. Refer to the documentation that comes with your hardware for the installation process. When you already have all the necessary hardware installed, you can begin the set up. First you need to unplug or turn off the DSL modem then connect the wireless router to the modem. You can check the documentation that came with your hardware for assistance. When you’ve set it up your computer will wirelessly connect to your router. The next step is to configure your wireless router. With Internet Explorer you can go to your router’s configuration page. Most of the default settings there are rather safe left alone but there are some things that you need to configure. You need to choose a unique wireless network name or SSID, this will be the name of your network. Be sure that no one around that is near you is using the same name. The next step is, if your router requires it, to provide a unique passphrase that it will use to generate some keys. Then the last step to do before you are done with configuring the router is setting your administrative password. Choose a password that is not easy to guess and not too short for security reasons. Be sure to save every setting you’ve configured. The actual steps involved in configuring these settings  vary according to the kind of router you have. The next step is to configure your laptop’s network adapter. It is easy to follow Window’s XP’s on-screen instructions for this one. Right-click the icon for wireless network in your task bar and select “View Available Wireless Networks” in the pop up menu that appears. The Wireless Network Connection window will show and there you will see the name you chose for your wireless network listed. Click Refresh network list in the upper-left corner if you don’t see your network. You will then be prompted to enter a key, this is the key that you wrote down in both the Network key and Confirm network key boxes. Click Connect. You will then see connection progress as it connects to your network. When you’re already connected you can close the Wireless Network Connection window. You’re done, you’ve set up wireless connection.

Can you really get your website listed in Google in 24 Hours?

Can you really get your website listed in Google in 24 Hours?

Well the answer is yes and no.

YES-if you submit your website as a link to a heavily indexed web site that the Google robots crawl every 5 minutes or so, and they don’t come any bigger and mightier that the popular social networking sites. These companies and organisations that claim to get your web site listed on the first page of Google are not telling you the whole truth. The actual truth is that, whatever you type in as your heading: for example-Can you really get your website listed in Google in 24 Hours?, wait for at least 20 to 30 minutes and type in the exact heading underlined above into the Google search box and to your surprise: as if by magic hey presto it appears on the first page of Google search results.

Some claim this is the work of Google SEO magic if there is such a thing as magic here. If you were to look closely at this example of SEO brilliance you will realise that: 1. You only get top 10 results on exactly what you typed  in as your social network link headline and exactly what you typed into the Google search box. If you type in any variations or keywords like: Google in 24 hours, website listed in Google,24 hours in Google or any other variation then I am afraid you will not get a top 10 first page result for this description.

Lets face it –how many people are going to type in this exact description into a Google search box for it to get on the first page of Google and drive massive amounts of traffic to your web site without expensive pay per click advertising?.This type of myth and hype is actually being touted as the greatest coup against Google; it also claims to beat Google, whatever that means.

The claim that it can drive massive amounts of traffic to your web site and earn you a $1,000,000,000 is a complete nonsense; the only people making any money here are the affiliates and those that own the web site. You cannot get massive amounts of traffic from a link on a social network web site. If you check back into your profile account you will see maybe 10 clicks or views in a month is you are lucky. That is hardly enough to make you a millionaire is it?

YES-If you are experienced in SEO or use an  experienced SEO company like these. With clever SEO techniques they were able to get all the pages of web sites indexed by Google in 4 hours, sometimes you have to wait for weeks to get your web pages indexed by Google, so to have all pages of your web site indexed within 4 hours-That is the real Google SEO magic, but only if you give your web site a complete work out at the seogym.

With this system of indexing your web pages you do not have to type the exact title of your web page to find it, but a collection of key words used by the web site. This type of indexing gives you a permanent presence in search results

NO-If you do not have any relevant links to your web site and if you do not submit your URL or web site address for Google to know about your site and index the pages so that when you type in your web address Google can return results for that web site –otherwise you will only get a message saying: check your spelling.

The Advantages of Wireless Internet

Whether you are a business or residential Internet surfer, a wireless Internet connection or Wi-Fi can significantly improve your computing experience with lightning fast broadband speed as well as improved mobility.

With our rapidly growing technology oriented society of personal digital assistants, cell phones, and other mobile technology, the demand for wireless connections with increased broadband width has significantly increased over the last few years.

Wireless Internet connectivity has become more affordable and reliable thanks to the advances in bandwidth technology that provide data transfer up to two megabytes per second where the norm used to be one megabyte. Additionally, a wireless broadband connection is more reliable than a satellite connection because the signal does not have to travel as far for data transfer to commence.

A wireless Internet connection also provides a fast response when you download Web pages and facilitate email messages due to the improved bandwidth technology. Interactive applications such as videoconferencing, chat, gaming, multimedia programs, and social networking, are much easier to use and navigating your computer in general becomes much more efficient.

For the residential Internet surfer, wireless Internet connectivity means being able to access a high speed connection without having to install fiber or any associated extra lines. What’s more is that you can create a complete wireless Internet connection throughout your home that will allow you to access the Internet anywhere within a one-hundred foot range. This means you can sit out on your deck with your laptop if you wish or move about freely within your house without sacrificing Internet connectivity. With wireless Internet you are no longer limited to one room of the house or even one computer.

Wireless Internet connectivity also has a distinct advantage over a network because it is easier and more cost effective to set up without the necessary wires that are usually required for a conventional network configuration.

For the business user, wireless Internet connectivity means the sky is the limit with regard to mobility. Business people are no longer chained to a desk and can network with colleagues from anywhere, at any time, and in any place via email, instant messaging, and Web cam conferencing.

If you have recently purchased a new PC, you will find that most of them are equipped with wireless capability as a standard feature. This nifty feature will automatically find the nearest wireless access point and automatically connect to it, unlike the older methods of having to configure your computer to access a connection.

Wireless Internet connectivity also allows you to use your PC without the complications of devices that require connection with a cable. With a wireless connection, the devices are enabled with what is called Bluetooth capability and they will easily work with any wireless connection.

Wireless technology has also increased its advantages with new breakthrough devices such as wireless stereo speakers, headphones, computer peripherals, televisions, and microphones. Without a doubt, we are rapidly becoming a wireless society and in many ways the advantages are leading to a less stressful and easier way of life in both the personal and professional venues.

They Tell Me Only To Use Microsoft Windows Not The Free Linux Operating System

Most people purchase computers to run programs – whether it is to send email, browse the web, meet friends of girlfriends on msn messenger, do office work or just play solitaire.
People buy computers to use programs for their functionality not to run operating systems be in Microsoft Windows, the new Microsoft Vista product , the Mac Operations Systems or the various Linux Operating Systems – be they Ubuntu Linux , Mandiva , Knoppix or Debian.
At the heart of most computer users is functionality and usability. It is as simple as that. It is an interesting situation that the Microsoft Corporation controls the vast lion’s share of the computer operating system market. Indeed it even has a major share holding of the next player in line – Apple with the Macintosh OS (Operating System).
What are the issues?
1) Linux is not really free. Linux, in its various flavors or distros, is given free of charge, whether it is on a cd, DVD or downloaded. You can install the program on your own compute or various computers , at no charge to yourself whatsoever
This is in direct contrast to a commercial product such as Microsoft Windows or the new Microsoft Vista which you to purchase a boxed version or a valid license which comes with most computer systems purchased. This license which comes on most new computers as a matter of course could be referred to as the “Microsoft Computer Tax” and is not an option you can forego, to reduce the purchase of your new compute – whether or not you wish to use another operating system such as Linux.
Linux is given free of charge to install. This is not a shareware or time limited version of the product which requires a registration fee after a period of time.
If you require product support or training commercial organizations do exist which will charge you for support of that product or for training or both. Indeed it can be said that Microsoft itself charges for product support, Symantec the antivirus / security organization charges for basic support by product, subscription fees – sometimes automatic subscription fees and 900 phone number and charge card “Priority Support”.
Indeed you would not expect your local school or technical college to provide computer and compute software training free of charge.
2) Linux is complex and will force you to learn the Linux command line,
Not true simple as that. The various Linux distros all have GUI (Graphic User Interfaces) just like Microsoft Windows, Windows used to come as command line DOS. Windows users use pull down windows to operate the software. So can and do most Linux users
3) Compared to Windows , Installing Linux is Difficult
- The vast majority of computer users are computer neophytes and beginners.
These computer users purchase computers with the operations system Microsoft Windows or the Macintosh Operating System installed on their new computers. These people could not install the Windows Operating system and the device drivers necessary if their life depended on it. How the situation of a Linux is based computer any different.
It is only a matter of time until new computers come preinstalled with the Linux operating system. Imagine if Henry Ford had been told not to build new cars since there were few good roads available in America.
4) My Computer Hardware Just Works Under Windows
5) Again untrue in many cases and soon to be less of an issue as more and more computers will come preinstalled with a Linux operating system. Already Dell Computer (which was a Microsoft stalwart) is selling Linux based laptops. Interestingly the response to the Ubuntu Linux dell notebooks is quite positive, If you think Linux hardware compatibility is an issue try upgrading to the new Microsoft Vista from your previous Microsoft Windows product. You will find to your surprise that few if little of computer hardware are supported. You may have upgraded to the new Vista and found you have either no sound, good video or even internet connections via your network adapter device or wireless network adapter. And try undoing your upgrade to get back to your working windows version – it cannot be done.
Lastly you may say I run Windows since all of the programs I use are available only on the Windows operations system – since that is the dominant player in the market. You may well surmise that since Windows is the more than dominant player in the computer OS market that software developers write their product almost exclusively for the windows operations system and that market.
This is true. If you are using a specialized product for your job, industry, situation or preference you may well be locked in.
In the end most people buy and use computers for functionality and use. Most people use their computers for internet browsing , communication – whether it by email or messenger services (M.S.N. , Yahoo , Skype , Eyeball Chat) , downloading and burning music and in more than many cases for playing nothing more than computer games such as simple solitaire.
In these cases the functionality of Linux and its program base easily allows for this. Indeed many of the cutting edge programs and computer services come out of left field by computer software developers and enthusiasts whose preference of Computer Operating System is guess what – Linux in its various forms.

Advertising Using Blogs

Advertising Your Blog In Your Email Signature:  If you have a blog that you are particularly proud of, and that you want to share with other people, there are a lot of free ways that you can get your blog noticed.  One of those ways is something that you do everyday, and that you may not even consider as a way to shareyour blog. Put the link to your blog in your email signature.  Chances are that you send out emails more timese that you can count during the day, Each time you send out an email, you can advertise your blog by putting the address of your blog in your email’s signature. It’s always a good idea to write something catchy like, See what I am up to now, or Read my latest chapter of my fanfic here, depending on what type of blog you have.  The thing to remember about putting an adveritsement in your signature for your blog is to make it short, but eyecatching.  You want people to be interested enough to want to click on it, but you also don’t want to scare them off.  Just like it is with any adveritsement, you want to give them just enough to be interested and take a closer look at what it is that you are advertising.  Think about what it is that your blog is about. What is really going to interest people abuot it and want to visit That is what you should include in your signature, and that is what is going to get people to go to your blog.

Blogger Forums – A Great Place To Advertise Your Blog:  No matter what type of blog that you have, one of the best places that you can advertise your blog is to join a blogger forum. After all, everyone who posts there has a blog and thats the main subject.  It’s a great place to meet other bloggers and to advertise your blog.  There are quite a few blogger forums that you can sign up for on the Internet. One is known as Bloggeries, where you can show off your blog, get your blog reviewed or review other blogs, and find lots of tools that you can use for your own blog.  Another good place to go is to Blog Forum. Blog Forum, like Bloggeries, has spots for you to market and show off your blog, Blogger forums are a great place to advertise because everyone in them are of the same mind and want to make certain that their blogs get noticed and read.  If you use your blog to advertise something that you are selling, or you want to get a lot of traffic to your blog in order to make money, you want to go someplace where it can get exposure.  When you advertise on a blog forum, you know that you are placing your advertisement in a place where blogging is something that people enjoy.  Just remember when you are posting to a forum to read the rules and abide by them. That way you’ll get your blog noticed and you will know that you are doing the

Blogging Directories – Great Advertising Venues:  If you want to have more people visit your blog, there are plenty of blog directories on the Internet that you can submit your blog to so that people will come and visit it. Most blog directories are listed by the topics that the blogs that are submited cover. Blog Catalog is a free blog directory that offers categories such as career and jobs, writing, Iraq, and many others. It has features such as featured blogs and other things to offer those who submit their blogs there.  Another great place to add your blog is blog-drectory.org. Not only do they have an an extensive list of categories with sub categories, you can get your blog reviewed. For the most popular blogs, it shows the amount of hits that blogs have and if they have any reviews. As well as listing by category, the blogs are also listed by location.  There are other blog directories on the Internet – these are only a couple of them. But blog directories are a great place to advertise your blog and to makenew friends. You never know what you will find when you browsing through the directory, and you may just find out information that you never knew. Some of the blog directories offer chat features as well, so that you can meet other people easily.  As you can see, blog directories are a great place to get your blog noticed and bring people to read your blog and look at your pictures.

Blogging Traffic – Give And Take:  Blogging traffic is a give and take relationship. Sometimes one of the best ways to get traffic to your blog is by visiting someone else ’s blog.  Go to their blog and read one of their entries, or read a few of them. Chances are that you are going to find something that you have in common. When you find something that you find trulyinteresting on a blog, leave a comment so that they know that you were there.  One of the best known blogs available is LiveJournal.  A great feature of LiveJournal is that you can searchfor interests on their site and it will come up with results of those who have that interest.  Are you interested in horseback riding You can see what other bloggers are interested in horseback riding as well.  When you are commenting on someone’s post, you want to make sure that you don’t leave generic comment. If you like the post, say something about what you read in the post.  After you have commented on the person’s post, then you can say something like, ‘I really like horseback riding too. I had a similar experience to yours.’ andthen use it to link back to your journal.  But be sure that you sound sincere when you arecommenting, and don’t make them feel like you’re just fishing for traffic.  If someone thinks that you are using their blog to get more traffic to yours, they won’t visit your site and your efforts will be wasted.

Join A Community To Advertise Your Blog:  Something that you will find, especially if you join something like LiveJournal or GreatestJournal, is that users just like you have created communities for people with common interests.  There are communities for just about any subject, and if you find that there isn’t a community for the subject you can create one. This is a great place to advertise your blog.  The nice thing about communities is that there isn’tany limit as to how many communities that you can join.  For example, say that you love blogging about books, horseback riding, and skiing in Tahoe. All you have to do is look through the communities for ones that have those interests and join them.  As long as you post something related to the topic to the chosen community, people will see you and perhapsthey will check out your personal blog.  Something to remember is that you don’t want to writea post tht is one sentence long in order to get people to go to your blog. They will want to know that what you write is interesting and is something worth reading.  Joining communities can be a great way to advertise your blog and drive traffic to it. If you are referring to something that you posted about on your blog, you can use a link back to your entry in your post.  As with posting comments on someone else’s blog, you don’t want people to think that you joined a community simply to get traffic to your blog. Otherwise, people won’t visit your blog and you may get banned from the community as well.

Email Groups – Hidden Treasure Troves For Advertising:  Something that has become increasingly popular since the Internet has grown are the email groups that are available through Yahoo, MSN, and other venues.  They are a great way to meet other people who have a common interest, and are very similar to the communities that are available through blogging sites.  There is plenty of diverse subjects and there are communities for just about any subject.  These groups can be a great place for people who have a blog about the subject and want to share it with other people.  Most of the time when you join a group, you areencouraged to take a moment and to introduce yourself.  This is a great opportunity to tell people about your blog, but make certain that you don’t overdo it.  Just like with any of the other places you will advertise your blog, you want to make people want to go to your blog. If you are too overbearing, you will turn people off.  If your blog covers different subjects, you canadvertise it on the other groups that cover those subjects as well. Make certain that your post to the groups is interesting and that you let people know what it is that your blog is about. There’s nothing worse than getting taken to a blog under false pretences.  When people visit your blog, make certain that you thank them for visiting and respond to comments thatthey leave.  If they know that you appreciate the time that theytook, they are more likely to come back again.

The power of being seen is the up most importance and blogging is one the best ways you can make sure others know of you, don’t let it pass you by.www.theonlinenbiznetwork.com, www.marinisgifts.com, www.onlinenichenetwork.com

10 Blog Traffic Tips

In every bloggers life comes a special day – the day they first launch a new blog. Now unless you went out and purchased someone else’’s blog chances are your blog launched with only one very loyal reader – you. Maybe a few days later you received a few hits when you told your sister, father, girlfriend and best friend about your new blog but that’’s about as far you went when it comes to finding readers.

Here are the top 10 techniques new bloggers can use to find readers. These are tips specifically for new bloggers, those people who have next-to-no audience at the moment and want to get the ball rolling.

It helps if you work on this list from top to bottom as each technique builds on the previous step to help you create momentum. Eventually once you establish enough momentum you gain what is called “traction”, which is a large enough audience base (about 500 readers a day is good) that you no longer have to work too hard on finding new readers. Instead your current loyal readers do the work for you through word of mouth.

Top 10 Tips

10. Write at least five major “pillar” articles. A pillar article is a tutorial style article aimed to teach your audience something. Generally they are longer than 500 words and have lots of very practical tips or advice. This article you are currently reading could be considered a pillar article since it is very practical and a good “how-to” lesson. This style of article has long term appeal, stays current (it isn’t news or time dependent) and offers real value and insight. The more pillars you have on your blog the better.

9. Write one new blog post per day minimum. Not every post has to be a pillar, but you should work on getting those five pillars done at the same time as you keep your blog fresh with a daily news or short article style post. The important thing here is to demonstrate to first time visitors that your blog is updated all the time so they feel that if they come back tomorrow they will likely find something new. This causes them to bookmark your site or subscribe to your blog feed.

You don”t have to produce one post per day all the time but it is important you do when your blog is brand new. Once you get traction you still need to keep the fresh content coming but your loyal audience will be more forgiving if you slow down to a few per week instead. The first few months are critical so the more content you can produce at this time the better.

8. Use a proper domain name. If you are serious about blogging be serious about what you call your blog. In order for people to easily spread the word about your blog you need a easily rememberable domain name. People often talk about blogs they like when they are speaking to friends in the real world (that’’s the offline world, you remember that place right?) so you need to make it easy for them to spread the word and pass on your URL. Try and get a .com if you can and focus on small easy to remember domains rather than worry about having the correct keywords (of course if you can get great keywords and easy to remember then you’ve done a good job!).

7. Start commenting on other blogs. Once you have your pillar articles and your daily fresh smaller articles your blog is ready to be exposed to the world. One of the best ways to find the right type of reader for your blog is to comment on other people’s blogs. You should aim to comment on blogs focused on a similar niche topic to yours since the readers there will be more likely to be interested in your blog.

Most blog commenting systems allow you to have your name/title linked to your blog when you leave a comment. This is how people find your blog. If you are a prolific commentor and always have something valuable to say then people will be interested to read more of your work and hence click through to visit your blog.

6. Trackback and link to other blogs in your blog posts. A trackback is sort of like a blog conversation. When you write a new article to your blog and it links or references another blogger’’s article you can do a trackback to their entry. What this does is leave a truncated summary of your blog post on their blog entry – it’’s sort of like your blog telling someone else’s blog that you wrote an article mentioning them. Trackbacks often appear like comments.

This is a good technique because like leaving comments a trackback leaves a link from another blog back to yours for readers to follow, but it also does something very important – it gets the attention of another blogger. The other blogger will likely come and read your post eager to see what you wrote about them. They may then become a loyal reader of yours or at least monitor you and if you are lucky some time down the road they may do a post linking to your blog bringing in more new readers.

5. Encourage comments on your own blog. One of the most powerful ways to convince someone to become a loyal reader is to show there are other loyal readers already following your work. If they see people commenting on your blog then they infer that your content must be good since you have readers so they should stick around and see what all the fuss is about. To encourage comments you can simply pose a question in a blog post. Be sure to always respond to comments as well so you can keep the conversation going.

4. Submit your latest pillar article to a blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that summarizes a collection of articles from many different blogs on a specific topic. The idea is to collect some of the best content on a topic in a given week. Often many other blogs link back to a carnival host and as such the people that have articles featured in the carnival often enjoy a spike in new readers.

To find the right blog carnival for your blog, do a search at blogcarnival.com.

3. Submit your blog to blogtopsites.com. To be honest this tip is not going to bring in a flood of new readers but it’’s so easy to do and only takes five minutes so it’’s worth the effort. Go to Blog Top Sites, find the appropriate category for your blog and submit it. You have to copy and paste a couple of lines of code on to your blog so you can rank and then sit back and watch the traffic come in. You will probably only get 1-10 incoming readers per day with this technique but over time it can build up as you climb the rankings. It all helps!

2. Submit your articles to EzineArticles.com. This is another tip that doesn’t bring in hundreds of new visitors immediately (although it can if you keep doing it) but it’’s worthwhile because you simply leverage what you already have – your pillar articles. Once a week or so take one of your pillar articles and submit it to Ezine Articles. Your article then becomes available to other people who can republish your article on their website or in their newsletter.

How you benefit is through what is called your “Resource Box”. You create your own resource box which is like a signature file where you include one to two sentences and link back to your website (or blog in this case). Anyone who publishes your article has to include your resource box so you get incoming links. If someone with a large newsletter publishes your article you can get a lot of new readers at once.

1. Write more pillar articles. Everything you do above will help you to find blog readers however all of the techniques I’ve listed only work when you have strong pillars in place. Without them if you do everything above you may bring in readers but they won’t stay or bother to come back. Aim for one solid pillar article per week and by the end of the year you will have a database of over 50 fantastic feature articles that will work hard for you to bring in more and more readers.

I hope you enjoyed my list of traffic tips. Everything listed above are techniques I’ve put into place myself for my blogs and have worked for me, however it’’s certainly not a comprehensive list. There are many more things you can do. Finding readers is all about testing to see what works best for you and your audience and I have no doubt if you put your mind to it you will find a balance that works for you.

For the last 2 and a half decades Microsoft had been ruling the scene of the computer world without any serious competition.
Actually competition was always there, but people can hardly remember it.
At one time they called it Netscape Navigator
Another time it was Mac which although still exists, seems as if it keeps its portion in the market without real threat to the BIG GIANT from Richmond.
But no matter who it was, where and when Microsoft, directed by the strict guide of Bill Gates had always managed to overcome and win an even larger piece of crowd and add some more joy to its’ share holders.
I’ll tell some old story now that some of you might have already heard:
Microsoft at the beginning, before launching windows 3.11 had bumped into some financial difficulties and in order to help them go through it, they offered their employees to either choose to keep the high paying salary or to cut it down to a bare minimum and get shares in Microsoft in return.
Now, you can guess who made the right choice, but image an offer like that had come across you? Would you risk your paycheck? Just to make it clear one of the guys that decided to go with the shares hade purchase the USA Bowling League Control simply because he likes bowling.
But about 5 years ago started the change, Microsoft which was all satisfied with herself and with the new OS Windows XP had let her guards down and allow the largest competition she’ll ever face grow without proportion and easily take control over the WEB, thinking that web is just a fashion and networks is what’s really important. At one time Steve Ballmer even said that Google is just a bubble that is about to burst.
Well if it’s about to burst Stevey, why is it your company making so many efforts to follow its footprints?
Never in her existence had Microsoft gone to so much efforts to try to copy and overcome 1 company.
Now, with a better search engine, better look, improved online services, that includes:
Free Domain Name & Hosting Office Live
Q & A a copy to yahoo Q&A
Image search which is by far the most convenient image search today.
And starting November 7th a new Local Live search which copies Google Local services
MSN is still not close to get her share of surfers and users that were taken away by Google 5 years ago & All these services had taken their focus from 1 major thing their search engine which his bots are lagging way behind and hardly has the time to go over all the pages in time like they used to.
If you’ll search for Cpayscom2 Online Casino in Google, MSN and Yahoo and take a look at the cache dates of the 1st top 6 users you will see the differences and understand what I mean.
